 Big Sur, CA Wedding FilmmakeR

I know booking a filmmaker can feel like a big decision, and you probably have a few things you’re curious about—don’t worry, I’ve got you! From traveling for your epic elopement to the process behind creating your Super 8 masterpiece, I’m here to make everything as seamless (and fun!) as possible. Here are some answers to the most common questions I get, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to chat and make sure you feel confident and excited about working together!

Do you travel for weddings and elopements?

Yes! Most of my events are actually out of town. I love to travel anywhere and everywhere. If the location is more than two hours from my home base, I do charge a travel fee depending on the location. I am currently based out of Central California and Sicily depending on the time of year.

Do you film events besides weddings?

Yes! About half of my work involves weddings and elopements and the other half is a mix of family films, films for small businesses, events, maternity and boudoir! To me, no moment is too small to be captured on film.

How do you choose the music for our film?

I use Music Bed for any music featured on your film. I will ask you beforehand what styles or genres you and your partner enjoy.

What is that noise?

Super 8mm film cameras are vintage and refurbished. When the film is pulled through the camera, it makes a whirring or clicking sound. People who love film tend to love the quirks that come along with old cameras, including the "vintage" sound.

Do you have preferred vendors you recommend?

Yes! Just reach out and ask!

When will we receive our film?

Immediately after I film an event I mail the film cartridges to Pro8mm in Los Angeles. They process and scan the film, send me your film in a digital form and then I edit the film and add music. You will receive a digital file and a link to your film within 60 days of your event. Learn more about Pro8mm and super 8 film here.

Do you record sound?

I do not record sound. My cameras do not have sound recording capabilities, but the main reason I do not is because of the equipment and multitasking that goes with recording audio. I want to be 100 percent present, and filming the emotions and events of your day without worrying about a microphone set up. I truly believe each of my films portray your day as it felt, even if it doesn't have the actual audio from your day. However, I can put almost any audio into your film. If you want a friend or Auntie to record audio at your event, I can most likely add it to your film!
